Press Release: Saige Coffee House Announces New Location at Schmidt’s Commons in Northern Liberties
Saige Coffee House will bring a new cafe to The Schmidt’s Commons in mid-winter of 2018. This new food and drink offering is not just a coffee house, but a warm and unique environment designed to be inspirational, inviting and productive. Coffee will be sourced from Red House Roasters. Speciality drinks will include cold brew on tap; Nitro Cold Brew; fruit infused, hand-crafted iced teas; single origin pour overs; all different types of lattes; herbal hot teas; and hand-crafted vegetable and fruit smoothies. The menu will include a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches, paninis and salads – available all day from open to close.
CORE VALUES:
At Saige, we are committed to using the best possible ingredients in everything we serve. We seek out local, natural, and sustainable ingredients. We only serve our guests signature ground coffee, locally grown fresh produce, and naturally antibiotic free meat and poultry. We strive to maintain a healthy quality meal to each and every one of our customers.
Furthermore, we are passionate about creating an environment where customers have a sense of belonging and feel inspired to be part of a truly wonderful experience. Specifically, Saige is extraordinary because of the avid support and partnership with community educators and students. Our mission is to foster an environment that promotes creativity and the arts. The Saige experience moves beyond our food and coffee, and offers a platform where community members and students’ talents are displayed and cultivated inclusive of music, poetry, and art. Saige promotes the arts by displaying student or local artist work in the cafe, acoustic nights, or poetry slams and reading. The collaborative relationship that Saige establishes with the community, students, educators, and universities is what makes Saige exceptional.

There will be couches, comfortable chairs and tables with a rustic flare.
“Work has already begun on the inside and we felt it was important to clear the space down to the walls and start from scratch to let our aesthetic and vision shine,” added Wahdat.

The Schmidt’s Commons brought on a full-time events coordinator to help execute the new direction who is dedicated to creating a more vibrant community for the residents, as well as locals from surrounding neighborhoods. The new coordinator also started the process of highly curating the events to ensure they are a match for the residents and for the neighbors.
Since the re-brand, The Schmidt’s Commons has launched a host of new weekly, monthly and one-time events, as well as welcomed three new tenants.
