Review: Experience the Magic of Sing Along Princess Parties
The motto for Sing Along Princess Parties is “Bring magic to your child’s special day.” At their first annual Cinderella’s Spooky Halloween Party, they made sure every child present had a magical and special day.
Held at the lovely State Room in Northeast Philly, the magic started as soon as guests entered the door. Cinderella herself was there to greet all her little princesses, Descendants comrades, and spookily-dressed friends. The party room was decorated more cute than spook which was good considering the average party-goer didn’t strike me as the type that really wanted things to get scary. Every table had plenty of snacks while tasty pizza, cookies, and drinks were at the ready for anyone who needed an energy boost to handle the excitement of seeing their favorite princesses up close.
When the moment came for more Princesses to make their grand entrances, the excitement from the little partygoers (and their parents) was apparent. Cinderella introduced them one-by-one: Rapunzel, Moana, Belle, and the newest to join their group, Sofia! They each spent time talking to and taking pictures with the all the children who came up to them. It was apparent that all the Princesses have their fingers on the pulse of what is in right now in the pre-tween culture. From the Descendants to JoJo, they have topics of conversation at the ready when talking to the little ones.
Once the initial rounds were made, it was time for activities. The children had been given stickers as they entered the party. Children with one set of stickers were sent to color in their own trick-or-treat bags with Cinderella and the others were sent to the other side of the room to have their hair and make-up done by Belle and Rapunzel themselves. As the little ones finished one set, they went to the other side of the room to do those activities. If a child wasn’t interested in an activity, Moana and Sofia, as well as the other party helpers, circulated to make sure no one felt left out. As the kids were finishing up, Cinderella started a dance party and any Princess who was free posed for more pictures with whomever wanted to in front of a sparkly curtain. The kids loved it. Everything was so well-run, it never felt that anyone was being rushed or ignored. With so many children to wrangle, that’s an amazing feat!
The biggest thrill of the day came when it was time for the sing-along. Moana came down and anyone who wanted to joined her on the dance floor as they all sang “How Far I’ll Go”. Next, Rapunzel was up to sing “When Will My Life Begin”, and finally Belle was on hand to fill the request from many of the children for a rendition of “Belle”. After the group picture was taken and we were all leaving the party, the children were sent off with treat bag given to them by Cinderella herself.
I can’t tell you how excited my kids were to have met all the Princesses and to have had so much quality time with them. If you are planning a little girl’s party in the future and are looking for supplemental entertainment, I would highly recommend looking no further than Sing Along Princess Parties. Their packages are listed on their website (http://www.singalongprincessparties.com/ ), and there are several different princesses to choose from. The available princesses hilariously reads like off-label Halloween costumes (ie Royal Slipper Princess, “Long Haired” Princess, Mermaid Princess, etc.) presumably for copyright reasons, but their likenesses to the princesses we all know and love are spot on. To even be considered worthy to step in these princesses’ famous glass slippers, every one of them must have a total of eight years’ worth of experience in vocal and theater training as well as experience working with children. They are also required to do extensive character research on the princesses they will be embodying. These ladies have the knowledge and the talent to make every child KNOW they are in the presence of their favorite characters.
If you are looking to have the same kind of group experience as Cinderella’s Spooky Halloween party, follow them on social media to find out about their next party. Rumor has it, there’s one already in the works for the winter holidays!
