Popcicle Shop Review: Lil Pop Shop in Rittenhouse
I had the pleasure of visiting Lil Pop Shop this evening in Rittenhouse. I had asked my friend to find a quaint coffee shop so we could do some table work for a show I’m directing. At first, he didn’t think we would find any coffee shops open after 7pm that weren’t the likes of Starbucks or Saxby’s. However, he recalled a place he visited recently that was like a corner coffee spot.
Lil Pop Shop serves the traditional lattes and macchiatos that any caffeine lover would enjoy. Their claim to fame is their unique popsicles made from fresh and naturally sourced ingredients. My friend chose the salted caramel ice pop while I elected to grab a chai tea latte and a cheesecake cookie. Both of us devoured our treats within minutes.
The atmosphere was crisp and clean. Just a few four top tables and a couple cozier spots for two around a coffee table. Fortunately, it wasn’t busy so we had no issue getting a table and held an hour long meeting without feeling like we were hogging a spot from anyone else. I attribute the spaciousness to a cold, rainy evening where most wouldn’t want to indulge in a cold treat. Even Saxby’s down the street was dead. I suspect this cute little shop to be a hotspot throughout the summer. I will definitely be back.
