A Phonograph Musical
Dream takes place in an attic full of memorabilia. An old phonograph, a scrapbook, a pile of letters tied with pretty faded ribbon, and more call forth a colorful cast of characters as they re-live the wonderful pop tunes of the twenties, thirties and forties. Dance to the big band sounds when you hear “In the Mood”, or remember that special someone when you hear “My Blue Heaven”. This evening is packed full of memorable songs from a simpler time, a time when Glen Miller and Count Basie were Kings of the dance floors and Judy Garland and Billie Holiday sang the tunes that have lasted throughout the years.
This is an original piece in the vein of “My Way” or “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” – a kind of musical review, this time of the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s, loosely tied together with a story of nostalgia
